Feklistov S. I., Potapov N. N. — Properties of austenitic steel 03X16N9M2 and its welded joints at normal and cryogenic temperatures

The operational properties of austenitic steel 03X16N9M2 and its welded joints at normal and cryogenic temperatures for equipment operating in the temperature range from –196 to 20 °C are studied. Tests of a significant amount of operational properties of steel and its welded joints have shown that they remain at a high level at room and cryogenic temperatures. Comparative analysis of the base metal and the metal of welded joints of steel 03X16N9M2, in comparison with other austenitic materials, with a decrease in temperature to –196 °C, they decrease monotonically, which indicates the absence of a critical temperature of the visco-brittle transition in steel and metal of welded joints.
The relevance of the work lies in the use of steel 03X16N9M2 for working in cryogenic conditions, for the first time in domestic practice.

Terentyev E. V., Dragunov V. K., Sliva A. P., Marchenkov A. Yu., Goncharov A. L., Borodavkina K. T. — Increasing the strength of heterogeneous welded joints of alloy 36NKHTYU and steel EP517 due to contact hardening

Experiments on electron beam welding (EBW) of EP517 steel to 36NKhTYu alloy at welding speeds of 30 and 120 m/h were carried out. Metallographic studies have shown that hot microcracks were formed in weld metal at an EBW speed of 120 m/h, and no microcracks were found at a speed of 30 m/h. The effect of thermal aging of welded joints under study on the weld metal hardness was investigated. The weld metal aging curves in the temperature range of 600—750 °C with a total exposure of up to 64 hours are presented.
It was established that the maximum hardness of the weld metal is observed at an aging temperature of 650 °C, herewith the hardness grows intensively in the first 8 hours of exposure and reaches about 230HV5. It was shown that due to the effect of contact hardening, it is possible to achieve high strength of the investigated welded joints, which exceeds the strength of EP517 steel. Specimens of welded joints after aging at a temperature of 650 °C for 24 hours during tensile tests stably fractured on EP517 steel, despite the fact that the weld metal hardness remained 20 % lower than the EP517 steel hardness.

Lyushinsky A. V. — Comparison of some methods of intensification of the diffusion welding process

A technological process evaluation was carried out to estimate the influence of different types of intermediate layers (foil, sputtered film, galvanic electroplating coating, ultradispersed nickel powder) and a laser treatment of bonded surfaces onto a possibility to lower the main parameter of diffusion welding process, i.e. temperature. It is demonstrated that the optimal type of intermediate layer providing a guaranteed quality of welded joint with the simultaneous reduction of process temperature is the ultradispersed nickel powder, which is produced by thermal decomposition of nickel formate Ni(COOH)2•2H2O.

Mishin M. A., Shiganov I. N., Tatarenko A. Yu., Murzakov M. A., Grezev N. V., Obronov I. V., Prokudin D. V. — Welding of cooling blocks made of aluminum alloys by laser welding technology

The paper considers laser welding on a curved contour of the aluminum housing of the cooling unit with a scanning beam. The limits and modes of qualitative formation of a non-through welded joint made of AMg6 and AMg3 alloys are established. It is shown that the use of high welding speeds makes it possible to obtain high-quality sealed welds on aluminum alloys. The combined use of beam scanning and the robot's movements of the welding head significantly reduced the time required to manufacture the part.

Shchetinin S. V., Nikitenko P. V., Elsayed Khaled — Regulation of the magnetic field during one-sided high-speed welding of pipes for gas and oil pipelines

The electromagnetic nature of the magnetic blast is confirmed as a result of an increase in the magnetic field due to the concentration of force lines in the ferromagnetic pipe and the deviation of the arc towards a magnetic field of lower intensity, which violates the stability of the process, self-regulation and automatic regulation, reduces the quality and toughness of welded pipe joints for gas and oil pipelines. The electromagnetic nature of magnetic field regulation in one-sided high-speed welding of pipes with a current-carrying coil inside consists in reducing the magnetic field due to the mutual destruction of fields of opposite directions, which ensures the stability of the process, strengthening the process of self-regulation and automatic regulation and high-quality formation of seams on the flux cushion, regardless of the gap in the joint. This confirms the law of minimum energy, according to which the minimum of energy is the maximum of quality.
The process of one — way high-speed welding of pipes for gas and oil pipelines with a current-carrying coil inside the pipe has been developed, which prevents magnetic blowing due to mutual destruction and reduction of the magnetic field, provides stability, strengthening of self-regulation and automatic arc control, improving the quality and toughness of welded joints by 2—2.5 times.

Burkov A. A., Kulik M. A. — Corrosion and tribotechnical characteristics of metal matrix Fe-Ti-Cr-B coatings

Boride coatings with an intermetallic matrix on steel 45 were obtained by electric spark treatment in a mixture of titanium granules with the addition of chromium boride powder from 6 to 15 vol. %. The structure of the coatings was studied using X-ray phase analysis and scanning electron microscopy. An amorphous halo and sharp Bragg reflexes were observed on the X-ray spectra of the coatings. It was found that under EIL conditions, chromium boride interacts with titanium and iron, leading to the formation of the corresponding borides and intermetallides. With an increase in the powder concentration in the granule mixture, the phase composition of the coatings changes from iron boride Fe3B to titanium borides TiB and TiB2. The heat resistance, electrochemical and tribotechnical properties of the coatings were investigated in comparison with steel 45. The heat resistance of the coated samples was 3 to 7 times higher compared to 45 steel in 100 hours of testing. The microhardness of the coatings ranged from 546 to 802 HV. The coefficient of friction and the wear rate of the coatings were lower than that of steel 45, while the best tribotechnical properties were demonstrated by the coating deposited with the addition of 11 vol. % CrB.
