Belova I. V. — Investigation of the degradation of the structure of steel 15Kh5M

This article describes the study of the degradation of the structure of steel 15Kh5M using quantitative indicators of the structure. Based on the totality of values of quantitative indicators such as fractal dimension and density of grain boundaries, conclusions were drawn about the structural state. Numerical values of the structure organization parameter are given, at which the exploitation of the material is unacceptable.

Tetyushin I. D., Ivanov D. V. — Study of the static and dynamic characteristics of the spindle assembly of a lathe when changing its design parameters

This article discusses the issue of studying the most important requirements for spindle assemblies at the design stage. The possibilities of the program for calculating the static and dynamic characteristics of spatial mechanical systems SPINCH for modeling and calculating the spindle assembly are described. The influence of the design parameters of the lathe, such as: the overhang of the front end of the spindle, the distance between the supports of the spindle assembly and the stiffness of the front support on the main static and dynamic characteristics of the spindle assembly: static stiffness, vibration modes and amplitude-frequency response, was studied and the corresponding conclusions were drawn.

The holes used in the movable joints of the tooling must have high wear resistance, which largely determines the reliability of the movable joint, and hence the reliability of the tooling as a whole. Therefore, the purpose of the work: the development of patterns of influence of cutting conditions on the hardening parameters of the surface layer of drilled. The paper presents the results of experimental studies that made it possible to substantiate the nature of the influence of cutting speed and feed on the degree of work hardening of the surface layer and the depth of the defective surface layer of drilled holes.
The physical regularities of the direct and reverse influence of cutting speed and feed on the degree of work hardening and the depth of the defective surface layer of drilled and holes are disclosed.

Utkin I.Yu., Singaevsky V. N. — The influence of the chemical composition on the kinetics of austenite decomposition and the mechanical properties of the metal of the overheating zone of steels of strength class K65

The influence of the chemical composition of steels of strength class K65 on the change in the kinetics of austenite decay at different metal cooling rates characteristic of automatic multi-arc submerged arc welding, manual arc welding, shielding gas welding and laser welding is investigated. The change in the impact strength and hardness of the metal of the overheating zone is shown depending on the chemical composition of the steel and the cooling rate.

Dronov E. A., Barakhov V. I. — Evaluation of the heterogeneity of the distribution of volume fractions of the phase composition of cast iron in the elementary cells of the section of the billet of the cylinder of a diesel engine using X-ray computed tomography

One of possible approaches is given to evaluate non-uniformity in distribution of phase components volume fractions within cross-sections of iron unit cells under study in diesel engine cylinder blank, the approach is based on X-ray computational tomography.
To determine volume fractions of ferrite, alloyed cementite and graphite in the iron blank, we worked out our own tomographic method for determination of components volume fractions in the material. Particular example is given to show the results obtained in determination of phase component non-uniform distribution within wall thickness in iron blank cross-section, and a constituent is found to produce change in volume fractions along four radial directions.
