Ershov A. A., Ershov A. V. — Influence of interfacial tension forces on the formation of deposited metal during automatic submerged welding

Practical tests of techniques for determining the interfacial tension at the slag-metal boundary during automatic welding under a flux layer have been carried out. A mathematical model is proposed that allows describing the profile of the deposited roller according to known values: the geometric dimensions of the deposited roller and the physical parameters of the welding flux.

Shneerson V. Ya. — Classification of small-scale weld periodic structures formed in fusion welding of metals

In the paper, the author offers the classification of small-scale periodic structures, which form the weld surface geometry and weld inner structure. The paper presents the formation mechanism of one of the most important types of these structures — weld layered inhomogeneity that is connected with the weld surface geometry, and determines the parameters of certain types of the small-scale structures.

The main regularities of the processes of heat-hardening of heat-resistant alloys and high-strength steels and its influence on their properties are investigated. It is established that the main source of flooding is electroplating of alloys and steels. Hydrogen in the EP-202 alloy causes a change in its microstructure, contributes to the appearance of mechanical stresses and microcracks during soldering of alloy parts with copper-silver solder, reduces the ductility of the alloy. A method is proposed to prevent flooding of the alloy when coating the soldering zone Ni, Cu, Ag by applying periodic changes in the direction of the galvanic current during electrodeposition of the coating. Frequent flooding of the treated surface during metal cutting with the use of COOLANT (based on organic oils) was revealed. Prevention of flooding during machining occurs when synthetic components are used in coolant instead of organic oils.

The possibilities of various methods for estimating the distribution of initial defects in structurally inhomogeneous materials such as ceramics and composites are considered.
