The essence of the phenomenon of the cutting waves is observed. Three alternate paths of the abrasive wheel on workpiece by the model, takes into account the oscillations of the tool, are shown. The mathematical dependences of the treatment conditions, parameters of the oscillations, allowing waves to provide the cutting conditions are brought.

Kondratyev S. Yu., Popov V. O. — Obtaining quasi-nano-crystal structure of a surface layer at laser treatment for the purpose of steel and alloys wear resistance increase

A possibility of obtaining ultra fine-grained quasi-nanocrystalline structure in the surface layer of steels and nonferrous metal alloys is calculated and experimentally confirmed. The grain diameter is less than 1 micrometer due to laser hardening with surface fusion and to surface engineering with a laser. Effect of the metal materials laser treatment process-dependent parameters on the structure and depth of the formable surface layer with ultrafine grain is studied.
