Belik А. G., Efremenko B. V., Chigarev V. V., Shimidzu K. — Effect of the interface distribution of chemical elements on the microstructure of the deposited Sormayt alloy

The authors have studied the microstructure and microhardness of the Sormayt alloy from the fusion boundary with the base metal to the surface of the roller deposited by the automated electric arc method through the use of the PL-AN 101 powder band electrode material. The distribution of chemical elements that influence the microstructure formation of the obtained wear-resistant deposited layer, which determines its operational stability, is researched through the use of energy dispersion method.

Mazur V. A., Leshchinskiy L. K., Matvienko V. N. — Influence of the base metal thermophysical properties on the geometry of the fusion penetration zone when deposition by using a buildup band electrode

The results of the mathematical model of heat propagation with consideration of the temperature-dependent properties of the parent metal using submerged-arc surfacing process with strip electrode are given. The data in the computational study made it possible to analyze the effect of the composition and thermo-physical properties of the parent metal as well as the shape of the heat source on the temperature field, area and depth of the fusion zone. The calculation results are in good agreement with experimental data.

Muravev V. I., Bakhmatov P. V., Lonchakov S. Z., Grigorev V. V. — Determination of hydrogen content in titanium alloys during the technological cycle

The peculiarities of the hydrogen content determination in the surface layer of titanium alloys by using a spectral method in the plasma of an electric spark discharge are considered. This method permits to identify the critical H2 content at a sufficiently small depth of damage, and is proposed as an additional factor for determining the surface preparation quality of welded edges of titanium alloys with the ability to classify surfaceand capillary-condensed moisture as a source of pore formation of welded joints.

Peshkov V. V., Bulkov A. B., Korchagin I. B. — Diffusive welding of laminated panels with honeycomb filler by thin-walled composite from OT4-1 alloy

The effect of preliminary gas-thermal nitriding of the titanium alloy OT4-1 on increasing its resistance to high-temperature deformation is considered. It is established that the kinetics of high-temperature deformation under conditions of isothermal testing of pre-nitrided titanium is caused by the development of two competing processes: "hardening" caused by the presence of nitride layers on the surface and "softening" associated with the nitrogen dissolution in a metal substrate and deblocking the titanium surface with nitrides. The duration of diffusion welding with the use of a nitrated filler was determined, the ultimate loss of its stability under conditions of diffusion welding and the strength of the diffusion joining during the tearing off tests.

Fedoseeva Е. М., Olshanskaya Т. V. — Analysis of the nonmetallic inclusions formation in the low-alloy steels welded seams at multi-layer welding by using the electrodes with different types coating

Manual arc welding of coated electrodes, despite the evolving technologies, remains one of the welding methods used in the manufacture and repair of metal structures, including responsible purpose. The quality of welded joints obtained by manual arc welding with electrodes with different types of coatings depends largely from the combination of the nonmetallic inclusions characteristics. The carried out quantitative and qualitative analysis of nonmetallic inclusions in welded seams allowed to establish that when welding by electrodes with the main coating OK 53 a smaller fraction of inclusions is formed, in comparison with the electrodes with rutile coating OK 46. Also a small amount of oxide inclusions is formed, mainly spinels on based Al2O3 and combined inclusions. This is explained by the completeness of the deoxidation and desulphation processes of the weld pool metal.

Redichkina T. V., Volodin I. M., Neverov V. V., Volodin A. I., Lebedev S. V. — The causes of defects in welded joints at the heat exchangers production for gas boilers and defects elimination means

Nonremovable defects in the form of cracks appeared in the welded joint of the most critical parts, such as heat exchanger tubes and a furnace, at the manufacture of heat exchangers for gas boilers in ZAO Borinskoye in the Lipetsk region, making the entire product unusable. The share of rejected boilers for this reason was approaching 30 %, which sharply reduced the economic efficiency of production. Employees of the departments of the OPMP and physical metallurgy of the LSTU carried out a complex of studies aimed at identifying the cause of defects and ways to eliminate them.

Ivanov N. I., Borisov P. Yu. — Automatic quality control of T-joints in the process of contact welding

The automatic quality control method of T-shaped joints based on the largest maximum force developed in the welding area at sinkage of the wire parts is described. The threshold values of the reference interval control parameter are determined. They provide the possibility rejection welds which do not satisfy regulatory quality index criteria. A device for implementing automatic control method at the welding process is described.

Evsigneeva N. A., Kotelnikov А. А., Romanenko D. N. — The application of the finite element method at the calculation of a welded structure

An investigation of the stress-strain state of a welded console design is represented in this paper. A comparative analysis of the results of the calculation by the material resistance method and the finite element method is given.
