Utkin I. Yu., Kapustin О. Е., Frantov I. I., Sevastyanov S. P. — Influence of the carbon content on the mechanical properties of the rolled metal base and adjacent zone of niobium containing steels with strength class K65

International standards and technical conditions for the projects set requirements for the chemical composition and mechanical properties of the rolled metal base and welded joint metal. Recently, the tendency to reduce the carbon content increases, therefore, the purpose of this work was to determine the rational content of carbon with a view to the mechanical properties of the rolled metal base and adjacent zone.

Pisarev V. A., Zhiznyakov S. N. — The effect of oxygen adsorptive inhibition of pore formation process at arc welding of steels

Existing points of view on the nature and mechanism of pore formation at arc welding of low-carbon and low-alloyed steels by a consumable electrode do not give a sufficiently substantiated, confirmed by practice response to a number of phenomena observed during welding associated with the pores formation process of nitrogen and hydrogen origin. In the authors opinion, this is due to the fact that the various pore formation theories do not take into account the decisive influence on the pores formation of oxygen containing in the weld pool. It is shown that namely oxygen, being a strong surface-active substance, regulates the nitrogen and hydrogen entrance process in the gaseous phase of a developing embryo or growing bubble. Oxygen is capable to limit, until a complete stop, the flow of gases into them, due to the detected effect of oxygen absorption inhibition. The established regularities were used at the creation of coated metal electrodes and in technological process development of steel structures welding in carbon dioxide in open areas.

Lebedev V. A., Novikov S. V., Zhuk G. V., Dragan S. V., Simutenkov I. V. — Mathematical modeling of the arc deposition process with controlled changes in the arc gap length

The process of arc welding in shielding gases and under a flux with the use of external low-frequency mechanical oscillations is presented as a periodic process in which a drop is formed in the first half-period, and in the second, the transfer of the electrode metal takes place. The developed mathematical model of the process takes into account the variation with respect to the given periodic law of the length of the arc. The dependences of the current on the arc length and the current density on the length of the arc are established analytically at surfacing in CO2.

Varukha E. N. — Calculation of the wire fusion rate in accordance with the actual value of the welding current with short circuit of the arc gap

The relationship between the effective current and melting rate (feed speed) of welding wire when welding in a carbon dioxide withcurrent of reverse polarity. It is determined that the formula previously used to calculate melting rate of the wire when welding with a long arc, suitable for calculations when welding with short-circuiting of the arc gap.

Peshkov V. V., Bulkov A. B. — High-temperature creep of VT6 alloy during diffusion welding in an atmosphere of argon and nitrogen mixtures

The development process of high-temperature deformation of thin-walled titanium blanks with a globular microstructure in argon and an argon and nitrogen mixture is studied. It is shown that when the argon and nitrogen mixture is used, the samples deformation value is significantly reduced, due to the formation of nitride layers on their surface. The expressions for estimating the kinetics of strain and the creep rate of the samples is obtained by approximating the calculation results. The variation range of the welding parameters is determined, in which it is reasonable to use an argon-nitrogen mixture for the accumulated deformation decrease of thin-walled structures during diffusion welding.

Savinov A. V., Polesskiy О. А., Lapin I. E., Lysak V. I., Krasikov P. P., Chudin А. А. — Features of the seams formation when welding with nonconsumable electrode in inert gases with a high-current arc

The research results of the seam formation quality depending on the composition of a protective gas and the nature of the cathode processes behavior are given. It is shown that the defects of seam formation can be avoided by using electrodes that provide arc combustion with a diffuse cathode spot and an increase in the helium concentration in shielding gas when welding with a male taper electrode.

Burlaka V. V., Gulakov S. V., Podnebennaya S. K. — Welding inverter set with increased power factor

A circuit solution of a welding inverter set with increased power factor is proposed. The source is made on the basis of a bridge inverter, which supply voltage is provided by an input rectifier, assembled according to the Valley-Fill scheme. This, in combination with a special inverter control system, allows to increase the source power factor up to 0,94—0,97 and reduce the current consumed from the network. The original circuit design of the output rectifier makes it possible to obtain an idling voltage of up to 130 V, which makes it possible to easily ignite and stabilize the arc burning during welding. In addition, the switching frequency of the inverter is made variable in order to improve the use of the magnetic conductor of the high-frequency power transformer and increase the rigidity of its external characteristics.
