In this paper the analysis of the stress — strain state of polymer materials during cutting with the presence of microcracks in the surface layer is carried out. The stress-strain state of the material is simulated using the strength criterion as a condition for material destruction depending on the applied load. On the basis of theoretical assumptions a new method of turning workpieces from PCM has been developed and the technical essence of which is protected by a patent for the invention.

Aziz Sarvan Shirvan ogly — The experimental studies features of the interior lapping process

The article addresses the application of the multi-factor planning method of the tests to determine the basic parameters of the lapping process. This method allows to define the nature of the interactions of parameters and to obtain accurate information about the effect of the factors on the lapping process output, as well as to reduce the number of trials. During the experiments, each of the main parameters was varied at five levels, and for each of these levels, coded and natural values of the factors were assigned.

Shchetinin S. V. — The electromagnetic nature of the welding process

The electromagnetic nature of the welding process is disclosed. It was clarified that the electromagnetic interatomic interaction is the result of the pinch effect. A process of the one-sided high-speed pipe welding for gas and oil pipelines, enhancing the pinch effect and improving the weld main parameters of the quality in 2—2,5 times is developed.

METROLOGY AND METROLOGIC ENSURING

Grudskiy M. Ya. — The history of ultrasound: a look into silence to hear the invisible

The history of ultrasonics is part of the history of acoustics. The review reflects the main stages of the development of acoustics from ancient times from the discovery by Pythagoras of the relationship between the height of the tone and the length of the stretched string through the formation in the second half of the 19th century of the theoretical foundations of modern acoustics by Helmholtz and Lord Rayleigh to the invention in 1928 of the ultrasonic flaw detector by Sergey Sokolov. Special attention is paid to the experiments of L. Spallanzani, who 200 years ago concluded that in bats, the organ of hearing appears to supply that of sight.

MATHEMATICAL MODELING, NUMERICAL METHODS, PROGRAM COMPLEXES

Vlasenko V. D., Ivanov V. I., Konevtsov L. A. — Simulation of the roughness changes during electrospark alloying

One of the important characteristics of the quality of the coating is its roughness, which has a great influence on the performance characteristics of machine parts and tools. The paper proposes an approach to modeling the change in roughness during the formation of coatings in the process of electric-sputtering doping (ESA) and the formation of waviness on the surface depending on the energy regimes of the process.
The microrelief of the coating formed during the execution of the ESA differs significantly from the microrelief after machining and has increased numerical values of the relative reference length of the surface profile. The energy characteristics of the ESA process significantly affect the roughness of the formed coatings. At high values of released energy, wavyness is formed additionally with an increase in roughness on the coating, which is reflected upon further processing in a decrease in the relative reference length of the profile compared with the largest values, which limits the possibility of improving the performance properties of the coating. These values of the released energy can be considered the ultimate in terms of the qualitative formation of the geometric characteristics of coatings, and they can be an additional limiting criterion for the continuation of the ESA process.

AUTOMATION OF THE TECHNOLOGY PROCESS TECHNOLOGY AND PRODUCTION, CAD

Podashev D. B. — Study of the part edge quality at machining on an industrial robot

The need to replace manual labor with mechanized and automated is an urgent problem of modern engineering. The possibility of using an industrial robot to perform finishing machining of parts (rounding edges) is considered. The dependences of the machined edge quality indicators according to geometric accuracy (location deviation and relative error in roundness) and surface roughness from operating parameters when processing with radial brushes von 3M are studied. The empirical dependences of the edge location deviation and the roughness of the treated surface from the deformation of the brush, cutting speed and feed are obtained. The utilization of polymer-abrasive brushes for rounding the edges provides all the requirements related to the quality of the machined edges. The obtained formulas make it possible to determine the machining regimesunder which the required quality of the machined edge is ensured.

ECONOMY AND ORGANIZATION OF PRODUCTION

Voronin N. N., Rezanov V. A., Budarina O. N., Voronin N. Nik., Seydakhmetov N. B., Hovoselskiy I. Yu. — Features of the rail transport development in the past and present

An analysis of the wooden sills transformation into a modern jointless railroad track, allowing passenger and freight trains to move at fairly high speeds is considered. The main attention was paid to the issues of gradual improvement and service life extension of initially wooden sill roads, which gradually turned into a railway track. Improving the rolling stock and the associated increase in speed and comfort of passenger transportation, as well as safe exploitation, constantly requires improving the quality of the railway track. The carried out analysis shows that at different sections, rail welding must be performed by different methods: on the main path — by contact welding, on switches — by thermite welding. It is shown that with a change in the chemical composition of rail steel, it is necessary to carry out adjustment of the resistance welding modes. For thermite welding, the quality of the joint satisfies the requirements of standard documents.
Key words: wooden sills, butts between rails, jointless track, thermite welding of rails, resistance welding of rails, railway track
