A member profile shaper by set of cycloidal paths of geometry generation is considered, as well as parameter design procedure of the paths forming a part contour as a cycloidal polyhedron.

Pimenov D. Yu., Guzeyev V. I., Koshin A. A. — Effect of the mill displacement value relative to the blank on the cutting force at end milling

The charts of the calculated values of the axial component of the cutting force on each mill’s tooth and their summing diagram which obtain the total cutting force for various values of the mill’s shifts from the workpiece are given. These charts demonstrate the effect the mill’s shift onto the cutting force.

Results of surface layer quality research after high-speed edge cutting machining of hardened tool steels 9ХС and Р18 are covered. A surface layer quality data improvement after high-speed milling as compared to standard techniques is shown up.

Kropotkina Ye. Yu. — Technological development of the non-rigid part process

A procedure is developed which eliminates bending errors of long-measuring no rigid parts of different shapes by the methods of asymmetrical surface plastic deformation. The procedure allows for obtaining precision accuracy and virtue of the part surfaces.

TOOLING PRODUCTION

Demidov V. V. — Involute gear hobbing cutters shaping for corrected helical shaper cutters of the Sykes type

A determination task of a hob gear-milling cutter tooth flank in normal section for gear milling corrected helical gear-shaper cutters of the Sykes type is considered. A high precision of the gear-shaper cutter tooth flank in the transverse section is provided. The task is solved by the computer simulation. Regression equations for determining standard pressure angles of the tooth left and right sides of a special hob gear-milling cutter in normal section are given.

Serioguin A. A. — Engineering tools and attachments operation

A coordinated control of engineering tools and attachments operation open up possibilities for reasonable matching of the repairs time and periods of intended use. Fundamentals of economic calculation necessary for selecting equipment and attachments for production departments are given. A step-up coefficient considering service life reduction of a lathe or accessories is introduced. A standard structural model of production tooling repair is described.

Technology of wheel pair wear life increase is considered, including electrocontact strengthening techniques. Check-out methodology of residual stress in locomotive tires by ultrasonic method using electromagnetic-acoustical mode of elastic waves’ excitation and reception is described. Residual stress calculation results in forced-on tires before strengthening and after the roll surface electrocontact strengthening of the wheels are covered.

Research results of the plasma gas composition effect on the sputtered material particles’ interaction are described. Application of ternary mixture Ar–He–H2 at sputtering coatings from oxide materials results in properties improvement.

Large-scale use of information technology resources in the personnel training system coordinated with the plan for expansion of the MATI scientific-and-educational centres allowed for developing a series of on-line laboratory practical training sessions, based on the results of testing efforts carried out in the scientific-and-educational centres on the modern control equipment. Laboratory practical work is founded on the methodological and soft ware integrated by internet-technology. A virtual experimental lab for a wide community of learners, including schoolchildren, students, post-graduates, specialists, is created, which provides research competence formation of the stuff at science intensive manufacturing department.
